LEATHER WALLET – INTRODUCTION TO LEATHER

In this class you will learn how to make a leather wallet from a hide of leather. Under the expert guidance of award winning Milliner, costume fabricator and textile artist Enda Kenny you will mark out your pattern and learn a range of leather cutting techniques. The wallet will be glued, punched around the edges and hand sewn with wax threads. You will learn about different grades of leather and what type is appropriate for different projects. At the end of the class participants will leave with their own unique hand crafted leather wallet.
All materials and tools will be supplied. Please bring an overall, apron or old shirt to protect clothing.
