Whether you’re already writing or would like to start, this workshop is an opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of poetry, as you embrace its power to voice our deepest truths. As we explore what makes a successful poem, both the tradition and innovation of poetry will spark and guide your imagination. These discussions and other stimulating activities and creative exercises will prompt you to produce your own work, receiving constructive feedback in a friendly and safe environment. Come for the inspiration!

Mary Montague is a poet, novelist and nature writer. She has authored two highly praised collections of poetry and her work has been published in numerous anthologies and journals, and translated into several languages. She is the recipient of the 2019 Poetry Ireland Tyrone Guthrie Centre Mid-Career Bursary, and several awards from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Her first novel is forthcoming. She is a contributor to The Guardian’s Country Diary.
