Aran Knitting Workshop Series – 3 weeks
The Hole in the Wall Pub

Have you always admired the Aran cables, but have been nervous of working with a cable needle? Come along and surround yourself in the cosy and informal surroundings of The Hole in the Wall, Armagh to learn about the Irish tradition of Aran knitting while you learn to make your own Aran cabled cowl using traditional natural coloured Aran wool.

Over these three 2 hour classes, Nancy of Nifty Needles will teach you about the history of Aran knitting and the meaning behind the cable designs. This 3 week course is ONLY suitable to knitters who can confidently cast on, cast off, Knit/Purl and read a pattern. How to master cables is what you will learn over the 3 week course.
You will be provided with cream UK Merino wool and a unique Cable Spiral (to make working those cable stitches easy) so you can create a stylish Aran cabled button cowl, along with detailed handouts on how to knit cables and the cowl pattern. You will need to bring your own 4.5mm & 5mm knitting needles (either straight or circular) and your usual knitting notions!
Light refreshments will be provided.

Should you have any dietary or access requirements, please mention during the booking process and these will be accommodated as far as possible. Please email St. Patrick’s Festival, Armagh
