Poetry: Responding to the image with Anne Caldwell

In these poetry workshops, the focus is on finding inspiration in the image, responding to an image and exploring form, finishing and editing your poetry and finding outlets. The sessions will look at starting to write poetry in response to artworks and photographs and will consider how a writer begins to get beyond a description of another artwork and create something new and exciting that takes the starting point off in a new direction.

Dr Anne Caldwell is an Associate Lecturer in Creative Writing at the Open University. She has published four collections of poetry including Painting the Spiral Staircase (Cinnamon Press, 2016) and Alice and the North (Valley Press, 2020). She has been described as one of ‘51 world class prose poets’ when her work appeared in the international anthology, Prose Poetry from Australia, the USA and United Kingdom (Madhat Press, 2022).annecaldwell.net/annecaldwell.net/
