What's On

Saturday 1 November | 10pm – 1pm | £25
Discover the bold, tactile world of lino printing in this beginner’s workshop, introducing the traditional relief printing process. You’ll begin by exploring how to translate imagery into striking black-and-white compositions, learning to identify positive and negative space to create contrast and visual impact. Using a variety of lino cutting tools, Hazel will guide you through techniques such as gouging, cross-hatching, and texturing to add depth and detail to your design.
Once your lino block is carved, you’ll learn how to ink your plate using a roller (brayer) and experiment with colour layering and pressure to achieve clean, expressive prints. Your final artwork will be printed onto linen and plywood, giving you a small series of original, hand-printed pieces to take home – perfect for framing or gifting.
All materials are provided, but feel free to bring your own imagery for inspiration. Please wear an apron or old shirt – things might get inky!
