Led by: Jonathan Hackett, local artist and author, step into the world of art, elegance and hidden history as local artist and author Jonathan Hackett leads a guided walk through the Georgian heart of Armagh. This specially curated tour will take guests through three of the city’s most iconic cultural venues — the Archbishop’s Palace, Armagh Robinson Library and the County Museum — revealing the artistic treasures and fascinating stories that shaped Georgian-era Armagh.
From the influence of artists like Hogarth and Reynolds, to the legacy of local patrons and collectors, this immersive experience blends historical insight with artistic storytelling. Along the way, you’ll uncover how art was used to inspire, persuade and reflect the society of the time. Whether you’re an art lover, history enthusiast or simply curious about Armagh’s cultural past, this is a rare opportunity to walk through history in the very spaces that shaped it.
Please note this tour departs from the Archbishop’s Palace, Armagh and finishes at Armagh County Museum, The Mall.
Please dress appropriately for all types of weather, we suggest you wear walking shoes. You may wish to bring a coat and small umbrella, just in case. A moderate level of fitness is required for this walk.
