What's On
Friday 27th November 2026 | 7.30pm – 10.30pm | £95
Archbishop's Palace, Palace Demesne
Step into the elegance of a bygone age and dress your social calendar in Georgian splendour. Enjoy a drinks reception, a delicious three-course dinner with paired wines, live music, dancing, and an immersive living history experience filled with romance, scandal, and unexpected twists.
As honoured guests of Lord and Lady Ogilby, you are invited to the magnificent surroundings of Ogilby Hall for a grand dinner gathering. The occasion is a joyous one: the announcement of their daughter Miss Constance Ogilby's forthcoming marriage before the Christmas season comes to an end.
Constance has lost her heart to a handsome young military officer and eagerly awaits the moment he formally requests her hand in marriage and receives her father's blessing. With love in the air, music filling the hall, and wedding plans seemingly within reach, everything appears set for a happy ending.
Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy fine food, carefully paired wines, live musical entertainment, and dancing, while costumed living history interpreters bring the past vividly to life. Experience the customs, etiquette, fashions, and social expectations of the Georgian era as a captivating story unfolds around you.
However, family celebrations rarely proceed exactly as planned. Secrets, misunderstandings, unexpected arrivals, and surprising revelations threaten to disrupt the course of true love. Filled with humour, drama, romance, and intrigue, this immersive performance places you at the heart of a memorable evening where not everything is quite as it seems.
Join us for a unique blend of history, hospitality, and theatrical entertainment, where the sights, sounds, tastes, and traditions of a bygone age are brought vividly to life.
Please note: This is an immersive living history and theatrical dining experience. While the event explores the customs of courtship, marriage, and matchmaking in Georgian society, no real matchmaking, dating, or matrimonial introductions will take place.
Will Cupid's arrow prove true, or will love's young dream encounter an unexpected obstacle before the evening is through?
