Make this gala event a highlight of your social calendar. Set within the elegant surroundings of the Archbishop’s Palace, the Banquet begins with a drinks reception hosted by our Living History characters, who will also join you for this special occasion. You will then be escorted into the Georgian Chamber for a dinner fit for the gentry, with wines expertly paired to each of the three courses. Musicians will complete the atmosphere with music from the Georgian era. With love and marriage firmly on their minds, the Living History characters will entertain you as they seek a suitor, begin a courtship and perhaps even receive a proposal. Christmas was an important time in the Georgian calendar, and a banquet like this offered the gentry an ideal opportunity to improve their marriage prospects, even when romance gave way to discussions of dowries and property. This interactive event offers excellent food, drinks and the chance to join in the dancing. But remember the two-dance rule, or you may find yourself unexpectedly betrothed.
