Step into the candlelit elegance of the Georgian ballroom for an unforgettable evening of music, romance and timeless emotion.

Presented and curated by the acclaimed Arco String Quartet, From Courtship to Courting: A Georgian Love Story explores the many moods and moments of love — from attraction and flirtation to longing, heartbreak and devotion.

Set within the sumptuous period surroundings of the Archbishop’s Palace Demesne, the quartet brings together much-loved classical favourites by Bach, Elgar, Mozart and Purcell with contemporary songs by artists including Taylor Swift and Beyoncé.

Across centuries, genres and musical styles, the programme reveals just how familiar the language of love remains — whether whispered across a Georgian salon or sung today.

Expect a beautiful, atmospheric and entertaining evening that brings the world of Georgian romance vividly to life, with music at its heart. Whether you are a devoted classical music lover, a fan of contemporary songs, or simply looking for a memorable night in an extraordinary setting, this concert promises something to enchant everyone.

Arco String Quartet is one of the country’s leading professional and dynamic ensembles, combining a classical foundation with a passion for contemporary music and creative collaboration. Its members draw on extensive experience performing across the world with ensembles including the Ulster Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, RTÉ Concert Orchestra and Irish Chamber Orchestra, and appearances with Fever Candlelight Concerts.  Their work straddles the concert platform and recording studio, moving seamlessly between classical and contemporary music, live performance and film and television.
