By plane, boat, train or car? Here’s some information about all the available options to help you decide which type of transport suits you best

BY BUS

Armagh is on a direct bus link from many areas north and south of the border.

There are two main bus services; Translink (Northern Ireland) and Bus Eireann (Republic of Ireland).

BY ROAD

Armagh has a very accessible road transport network and there are ample parking spaces in and around the City centre. Details are provided below of the travel time and distances between Armagh and other key locations in Ireland.

BY RAIL

The Flagship Enterprise service operates between Dublin Connolly Station and Belfast Central Station, stopping at both Newry and Portadown Railway Stations. BY AIR

Fly direct to Belfast International Airport or Belfast City George Best Airport from many worldwide destinations. Dublin International Airport services a multitude of international locations; one and a half hours drive from County Armagh. For more information, visit www.ireland.com/flights

BY SEA

Regular scheduled ferry services operate between Northern Ireland and Great Britain, bringing foot and vehicles into the district via Belfast and Larne. Ferry services also operate into Dublin’s two ports; Dublin Port and Dun Laoghaire. For more information visit www.ireland.com/ferries

Electronic Travel Authorisation
(ETA) 

ETA Rollout update. Eligible Non-European national visitors will require an ETA from Wednesday 08 January.

All eligible non-European nationals will require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)  to travel to or transit through the UK.

Eligible Europeans, will be able to apply from 5 March 2025 and will need an ETA to travel to or transit through the UK from 2 April 2025.
