Step into the fascinating and often gruesome world of Georgian medicine.

Join our roving Georgian surgeon and their enthusiastic assistant as they travel through Armagh city centre sharing the medical practices and surgical procedures of the 18th century.

Discover the remedies and treatments that were once considered cutting-edge, from bloodletting and blistering to purging and the use of leeches. Through lively demonstrations and entertaining stories, learn how medicine was practised in Georgian times and how far healthcare has evolved since then.

Keep an eye out for the surgeon as they make their way around the city and don’t miss the chance to bid for a rather unusual souvenir before they depart… who will be the highest bidder for a trophy limb?
