Born in Belfast, Rosaleen studied painting at the Belfast College of Art and later the History of Art and Design at Birmingham City University.

The human figure has always been the main theme of her paintings and drawings. Her focus and interest lie within the analysis of the human form.

The theme of this exhibition is ‘Rock Climbers’. Rosaleen was initially drawn to this subject and inspired by the courage, grace, balance, power, tenacity and sinewy strength of the climbers. There are parallels with everyday life; when we are clinging on by our fingertips or need real mental tenacity just to keep going.

Rosaleen has exhibited widely and has work in public and private collections throughout Ireland, England, Europe, Canada and the U.S.A.
