What's On
An exhibition of large-scale paintings and works by Clinton Kirkpatrick, marking a return to the artist’s preferred way of working.
Clinton’s current practice examines opposing spaces of light and dark. Often lines between what’s visible and invisible are blurred and the artist creates a fantastical, absurd world, reminiscent of something that we all somehow know.
The visible world, one that we can identify with, meets something more intangible, possibly operating from the subconscious. Painterly marks, gestures, and colour choices are led by intuition, and we see iconic, vibrant, motifs mixed with forms resembling the human, which underpins Clinton’s artistic language.
