48 Hour Itinerary – Family Time This Autumn

Tayto Tour (1)

Families can enjoy an action-packed visit! There’s lots to do, to suit kids of all ages and quality time together is guaranteed.

A fun visit and a definite ‘must-see’ is Tayto Castle. Hidden behind a brown wooden door, in Tandragee, is the home to Tayto crisps. Made in a factory on site, which sits adjacent to the Castle, the tour showcases the crisp making process, starting with the humble spud and ending with the finished article. Meet Mr Tayto for a selfie and enjoy some tasting during your tour.! Running from Monday – Friday, tour tickets must be booked online. Please note, tours are suitable for those aged 5 years and over.

Spring_Gosford

Wide open spaces, to make dens, cycle, walk, scoot – there are plenty of locations. Perhaps the two best known would be Loughgall Country Park or Gosford Forest Park. Loughgall has a pretty lake with fishing stands, playparks and is in the middle of Orchard County. Gosford has adventure playparks to suit all ages from tiny to older. The cycle tracks and pump tracks are an experience. The style of trail is more family friendly so is a great starting point for this activity.  Bike wash options are available in case its more muddy than dry! Catering facilities are available at both park, dependant on days but picnic tables are available for family lunches.

Market Place Theatre April 2021

For an inside kind of day, The Market Place Theatre has a wide range of children’s workshops available. The autumn programme has fun arts and crafts workshops. Does anyone fancy making mystical night owls or decorating monster cupcakes? Workshops are a fun way to relax and create.

HNAVAN2

For those inspired by Halloween costumes or Harry Potter, then Navan Centre and Fort offer a fun broom making workshop. Create a masterpiece and go on an adventure. Aside from a range of workshops, children (and adults) can learn more about the Celts and how they lived their daily lives at this place. Online booking is recommended.
