The Castle is a history tale in itself as it has borne witness to history. It held particular importance in WW1 and WW2; being particularly the base for the US troops prior to DDay. To commemorate this history, there is an exhibition in the Castle depicting the events of that period. The Castle is also home to a tearoom, serving a wide range of meals and also afternoon tea, for which pre-booking is required.
