The Bird Fair is an annual event held at Tannaghmore Gardens each year. This year is the 23nd year it has been held. Gates open for vendors and the public from 8.00am Main attractions will be up and running from 10.00am-4.00pm. The Council has a marquee from which we sell poultry and ducks we have hatched and reared over the year. We would also usually get approximately 50-80 other venders selling poultry on the day. The aim of the event is to promote rare breed poultry and to offer a platform for breeders to acquire new stock. There is also a family fun day aspect to the event with entertainment and craft demonstrations on going during the day. The event is usually well attended by the public with between 3000-4000 expected on the day weather dependant. The activities on the day consist of Climbing wall, sheepdog trials, stick carving, and woodturning, Curragh Boat building, World of Owls, Downe Vintage Car Club, Blacksmiths, arts and crafts and Armagh Rhymers.
