Cathedral Tours

St Patrick’s Church of Ireland Cathedral was built on the site of St Patrick’s Church of 445AD. The greatest of Irish High Kings, Brian Boru came to the church in 1004 and made an offering of golf at its altar and recognised Armagh as the centre of Irish Christianity.

From the Church of Ireland Cathedral on Sally Hill, you can catch a glimpse of the lofty spires of St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cathedral which is based on the spot on Sandy Hill where St Patrick saved the life of a fawn. This cathedral was built in several phases between 1840-1904 and is famous for its beautiful mosaic decorative stone.
