Taking inspiration from the revolutionary work of 18th century local landscape painters, like Thomas Jones and Edward Pugh, who ventured to the tops of hills to paint from life, paving the way for the likes of Turner and Constable. Vittorio Cireface practice is hugely influenced by living and working the land and painting from life.
FFRIDD is Welsh for the rough ground between mountain and lowland, often considered “less favoured areas” in Ireland. However, it is this underappreciated ground where my love of working with, and painting ponies was born. Today my work reflects over 50 years of my special connection with the land I work, paint and live in.
