This portrait exhibition spans four decades of James Hughes’ work and features twenty-five portraits and narratives of literary figures such as poets, writers and songwriters including Padraic Fiacc, Ciaran Carson, Michael Longley, Jan Carson and others.

James Hughes is a Northern Irish photographer and artist, whose photographic practice ranges from social documentary through to fine art photography. A celebrated photographer, with many exhibitions and awards, his work is represented internationally in museums and galleries.

This exhibition is associated with the John Hewitt International Summer School 2026.
