The Lurgan Lectures: ‘Lurgan’s First Century: the origins and growth of a town in the Bann Valley’

In this lecture Professor Raymond Gillespie of Maynooth University will provide an insight into the plantation origins of Lurgan and the subsequent development of the town in the 17th century.

 

The lecture will be held in St. Peters Parish Hall (next to St. Peter’s Chapel), North Street, Lurgan.

 

The event will last from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.

 

This talk is part of an autumn series of lectures exploring the early history of Lurgan. The lecture series is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council through the Lurgan Townscape Heritage Initiative.
