Join visual artist Joanne Fitzpatrick for an inspiring workshop exploring abstract painting techniques. Taking inspiration from her current exhibition at the Market Place Theatre and Arts Centre, Vibrant Echoes, this session will guide you through the process of transforming landscapes into abstract compositions using acrylics on canvas.

You will develop your own abstract landscape on a small canvas, working with Joanne’s signature palette of vibrant colours. Learn a variety of mark-making techniques to build up layers, while discovering how to reinterpret a landscape image or photo in your own unique style.

Joanne will demonstrate her creative process and various painting approaches, offering insight into how she crafts her distinctive landscapes. Then, with expert guidance, you’ll put these techniques into practice and create your own artwork to take home.

Materials Provided: All necessary art materials will be supplied. Please bring an image/photo to work from for inspiration and an apron or old shirt to protect your clothing from paint.
