Tuesday 29 July | 1.30pm | £12

Cauvery Madhavan was born in India, moved to Ireland 38 years ago and has been in love with the country ever since. Her books Paddy Indian and The Uncoupling were published to critical acclaim. Her last novel, The Tainted, was chosen by Laureate Sebastian Barry for his Laureate Picks 2020. It was one of An Post Irish Book Awards’ Top Summer Reads. The book was chosen by The Times for their list of top 40 Historical Fiction novels and won the runner-up prize for the SAHR Prize for Military Fiction. Her 2024 novel, The Inheritance, is a beguiling story that weaves the Irish past and recent history into a tale, of love, acceptance and belonging.

[‘The Inheritance’] … a lush, green novel with a beautiful, beating heart” Sean Hewitt
