Ian Rankin and Jane Casey in Conversation with Stuart Neville

Tuesday 24 July I 8.30pm I £16

Multi-award-winning Armagh writer, Stuart Neville, invites two of the most popular and critically acclaimed crime writers to join him to discuss their work for this annual festival highlight.

Sir Ian Rankin is the multimillion-copy worldwide bestseller of over thirty John Rebus novels, the most recent of which is Midnight & Blue. His books have been translated into thirty-six languages and have been adapted for radio, the stage and the screen. In 2024, a new Rebus six-part TV series was broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. He is the recipient of four Crime Writers’ Association Dagger Awards, including the Diamond Dagger, the UK’s most prestigious award for crime fiction.

“‘Midnight & Blue’ is a triumph. Rebus as you’ve never seen him before and Rankin at his best.” Elly Griffiths

Jane Casey is a bestselling crime writer who has written twelve crime novels for adults (including eleven in the Maeve Kerrigan series) and three for teenagers. Her books have been international bestsellers, critically acclaimed for their realism and accuracy. The Maeve Kerrigan series has been nominated for many awards: in 2015 Jane won the Mary Higgins Clark Award for The Stranger You Know and Irish Crime Novel of the Year for After the Fire.

“(Jane Casey) Simply one of the best writers of detective fiction today.’ Liz Nugent
