Wear Your Courage – a youth-led creative exhibition
Wear Our Courage is a youth-led creative exhibition and advocacy project. Supported by Banardos, the Ubuntu Youth Voice Network is a collective of young people aged 12–21 from sanctuary‑seeking backgrounds.
In alignment with Refugee Week’s 2026 theme: Courage, young people individually designed and created T‑shirts that visually express their personal journey of courage. Each T-shirt becomes a powerful storytelling object, an artwork and a message for social change. It aims to showcase the courage which young people from sanctuary-seeking backgrounds demonstrate every day.
This project has provided a platform to share their experiences through creative expression and influence public perceptions around migration and inclusion.
Over thirty t-shirts have been designed and there are 12 on display at the museum. Each t-shirt is accompanied by the creator’s own voice explaining their journey.
