Experience an introduction to the craft of woodturning with tutor Jim Kelly. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those with some woodturning experience. A lathe, a set of tools and safety equipment will be provided for use by each participant, to produce a range of complete wood-turned pieces to take home. All materials, finishes etc. will be provided, however, participants should bring an overall/apron/old shirt to protect their clothes. 

Create a beautifully textured winter landscape using a combination of wet felting and needle felting techniques in this immersive one-day workshop. Guided by textile artist Louisa Kelly, you’ll learn how to build a soft felt base through wet felting, layering fibres and using agitation to bind them together, before refining your scene with needle felting, using barbed needles to sculpt detail, texture and depth. 

Working from reference images or your own photographs, you’ll explore composition, colour blending and fibre layering to bring your winter scene to life.
