The Market Place is turning 25 and we are going to celebrate by combining the love for theatre and art into creating our own box theatre.

Taking inspiration from Picasso and his theatre pieces, we will be designing a stage and some players.

Working in layers of cardboard and paper, we are going to bring life to a blank shoebox with paint, decorations and imagination.

Take your theatre home and continue adding your ideas for a playful set filled with stories, creativity and play.

2-Day Workshop

Friday 7 & Saturday 8 Mar | 10am – 4pm | £100

Learn to make a statement hand stitched and punched leather satchel in this two-day course under the guidance of textile artist and designer Enda Kenny.

You will work with vegetable tanned leather and learn how to cut leather by hand, hand dye the leather to your chosen colour, use leather punches to create stitching holes and saddle stitch the satchel using waxed thread.

For a beautiful, refined finish, you will seal the leather to make your satchel waterproof and add straps for the perfect fit.

All materials included. Please wear old clothing or an apron to cover up, as we will be using leather dyes/pigments.
