Originally fine old listed stone barns (circa 1785), each has been carefully converted into modern comfortable holiday accommodation. Each cottage is bright and spacious with a living room/kitchen. Bedrooms are furnished in a traditional style with fine oak beds, wardrobes and dressing tables complementing the white bed linen. Bathroom complete with WC, bath (exception of Gaskins Grove – disabled access and walk in shower) and over bath shower, and shaver point also offer a hairdryer and white fluffy towels.

Cottages are open all year round.

While staying at Ballydougan why not take some time to meander around the Gift Shop or sit in the courtyard garden and enjoy a freshly made cappuccino from the Thatch Restaurant & Coffee Shop.

Luxury self-catering accommodation in rural setting in Co Down. The accommodation is in a listed Gatelodge which has been restored and extended to combine modern luxury in an historic building.
There are two spacious double bedrooms which have been furnished with custom built pocket sprung beds. These can be made up to your specifications – as 1 super kingsize bed or 2 singles. There are fitted wardrobes and large amounts of storage for your belongings. Bedroom 1 has an ensuite bathroom/wetroom and bedroom 2 has a private bathroom. There is a large fitted kitchen complete with a dishwasher and microwave. There is also a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The cosy living room has two comfortable sofas and a wood burning stove. Firewood can be delivered on request.
In 2015 Scion Hill Gaten Lodge were awarded a Bronze Award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
