SEATING
The seating in the Market Place Theatre’s Main Auditorium is located on three different levels as follows:
Stalls Ground Floor
Mid Gallery First Floor
Upper Gallery Second Floor
There is a copy of the seating plan on our website at www.marketplacearmagh.com/about-us/seating-plan/
Please be aware that your group may be seated across different levels of the auditorium. In this case, you may wish to divide your group accordingly in advance of arriving at the Theatre. Front Of House staff will be on hand to assist your group to their seats and answer any queries you may have, but our staff cannot be held responsible for supervising children.
COACH PARKING & ACCESS
Car parking is provided in St Patrick’s Trian multi-storey car park, which can be accessed from English Street (entrance beside St Patrick’s Trian), or from Castle Street (entrance in front of St Patrick’s Church Of Ireland Cathedral). Simply follow signs for the Theatre, St Patrick’s Trian, or the Tourist Information Centre. You can gain direct access to the theatre from the top level of this car park. Disabled parking is available. Please note that due to height restrictions, this car park is not suitable for mini-buses | coaches.
Coaches are free to let passengers alight at any of the following points:
- In front of the Library on Market Street (recommended for students with special needs)
- Just behind the Theatre on Castle Street
- At the corner of College Street and English Street (beside the Tourist Information Centre). Directly behind the Tourist Information Centre is a set of steps which lead onto the top level of St Patrick’s Trian car park. The Theatre is on the opposite side of the car park across a pedestrian walkway.
Coaches will then have to continue to the Armagh City Hotel or The Navan Centre Coach Parks, as coach parking is not permitted at any of the above points. Armagh City Hotel is located on Friary Road and provides the nearest available, convenient coach parking. The coach parking area is located at the back of the hotel. The Navan Centre is located on the Killylea Road outside Armagh.
Coaches carrying disabled patrons may enter Market Square via Market Street for drop-off only. Please note that coaches cannot remain in Market Square after drop off. You may also drop off, as already indicated, in front of the Library on Market Street. Please contact the Box Office on 03300 561 025 if you wish to make arrangements for drop-off in Market Square.
We would strongly recommend that you make arrangements with your coach company regarding parking, and drop off and collection of students, well in advance of your visit. There is a map showing the theatre’s location on the ‘Contact Us’ page on our website.

SPECIAL ASSISTANCE

FOOD AND BEVERAGE
For the comfort and enjoyment of all our patrons, we kindly request that no food or drink is taken into the Main Auditorium.
ARRIVAL TIME
To ensure you get full enjoyment from your visit, we recommend you aim to arrive at the Theatre 15 minutes in advance of the performance time. This enables our staff to seat your group in comfort and allows us to ensure everyone is fully at ease before the performance commences.
Please be aware that due to the often tight schedule of performances, especially as regards our Christmas production, and as a courtesy to other schools/groups who do arrive on time, we are regretfully unable to postpone the start of any performance for latecomers. Latecomers will be asked to wait for a suitable break in the performance before being admitted, and in some cases this may be the interval.
FOCUS GROUP CALL
In an ongoing commitment to customer service, and to ensure we continue to programme events in a manner which suits the needs of school audiences, we would like to invite Principals | Heads Of Department to take part in one-off Focus Groups. If you would be interested in taking part, please contact us on 03300 561 025 or via email.
